Absent Legislator

Rob Trotta has a history of serving Suffolk County as an absent legislator. When campaign season comes around, he says he backs the blue and fights corruption- but he doesn’t show up when his community needs him most.

In 2022, the Smithtown school district held a school safety program. The intention was to help keep our children safe, and have our police officers hold an active role in our schools. There is only one Suffolk County Legislator who serves Smithtown, and that is Robert Trotta. But Rob Trotta was nowhere to be found. Does Rob Trotta care about children safety?

Rob Trotta doesn’t back our firefighters either: when there was a controversy in Smithtown over the ability to hang flags in support of law enforcement, Trotta was nowhere to be seen. Never even made a public comment.

Rob Trotta claims to back the blue, but is never there when officers injured on the job are released from the hospital.

Rob Trotta is an absent legislator. He is using his office for personal gain, and does not care about his constituents’ needs.

So where is Rob Trotta? Well he certainly is not backing law enforcement or protecting our children.
